With a history going back over 150 years, the Fitzroy gardens are one of Melbourne's major attractions.
While at the gardens you must visit Captain Cooks Cottage which is an interesting piece of history as it was originally built in Yorkshire. You can look through the cottage as well as explore the herb and vegetable gardens and get areal feel for what it was like to live in the 18th century.
Also take a look at the fairy trees in the gardens, you'll be impressed with the imagination of Ola Cohn who originally carved the stump over three years (1931 - 1934).
